We're always here for any questions you may have throughout the adoption process, and even after adoption and once you have your new baby home. While we strive to provide as much information as we can about all of our dogs, sometimes we are limited on how much we know about the background of dogs that come into our care. All of our dogs are fostered in homes which also allows the opportunity to test more behaviors than a shelter setting might, such as house-training, interaction with other animals, and other behaviors that a dog might exhibit in a home. We are a foster-based rescue and as such, we do not have a central facility where all of the dogs can be visited such as city shelters. Our goal is to bring these sweet babies into rescue long enough to ensure that they are healthy and have been behavior tested so that we may place them into a loving, FURever home they fit right into! No rescue is too small or too large and while we primarily serve Oklahoma, we have been known to aid in neighboring states as well when we're able. The Boston Terrier Rescue of Oklahoma is dedicated to rescuing as many Boston Terriers as we can. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization comprised of a team of diligent volunteers. We might not have been able to save her life, but we will do our best to save as many others as we can! Madison will be remembered for many, many years to come through the work we do for other Bostons. It is because of her that Boston Terrier Rescue of Oklahoma was established just one year later. Sweet Madison was only 9 years old when she lost her battle with bladder cancer. The love of the breed led to adoption, but the love of the dog led to starting a rescue. The only exception is if we have the funding we will often reimburse you for gas if you are transporting one of our dogs.) This includes our President, Secretary, Adoption Coordinator and Communications Director, all of them volunteer there time to our organization for free. None of our organizations members get paid for what they do for our rescue. (Please also understand all volunteer positions are just that, unpaid volunteer opportunities.

If you think you are right for any of these volunteer positions please feel free to email us at: or message the page. So getting to know us in essential for this volunteer position. Most people will either be asking about a particular dog or about who we are and what we do. We also expect you to have taken the time to read through our website and know and understand our rescue's mission and goals. It also would be a good idea to read through each of our dogs bios under the adoptable dogs tab in the main menu before coming to an event. We will give you a short run down of all the dogs we have at the event to help you answer any questions and concerns people may have about each dog. We are also looking for fun outgoing people who will bring traffic to our booth during an event. If you have any contact with event coordinators we especially are looking for you, because we would love to continue to add events to our schedule. Most of our event are currently in Tulsa and the surrounding areas, but we are working to have more events in the Oklahoma City area. This will help us match them with the right dog for them.

You will need to check out all aspect of the potential adopters home, get to know the adopters personality, and then report back to us what you have learned. We need people that are a good judge of character, familiar with the short nosed breeds, punctual, and social. Home visits are something we must do before all our dogs can go to there forever homes. If you have some time to spare and would enjoy having a furry copilot now and then let us know. This can sometimes be done on weekends but often needs someone that is available during the day on weekdays. We are always in need of people willing to help transport our dogs at least part of the way to there final destination. Our dogs come from all over Oklahoma and sometimes surrounding states. So if you are willing to open you home and heart to a senior dog please note that when contacting us. Many of our seniors need extra loving care and spend a long time in foster care before finding there forever home. We are in especially great need of fosters willing to take senior dogs. We need people that are willing to show our dogs the ropes in a kind and loving way. Many dogs come to us without any training at all including potty training. As a foster please understand our dogs will need routine and training.

We will first get you a foster application to fill out so that we can begin the process of getting you qualified to foster. If you are interested in becoming a foster please contact us.
